BLOUBERGSTRAND

Village on the shore of Table Bay. Originally on the Dutch form Blaauwberg Strand It takes its name from the beach named after the nearby hill Blouberg, ‘blue mountain’. Blue mountain refers to the colour the hill assumes when viewed from the ships approaching Table Bay.

Ons Huisie

Ons Huisie, Stadler Rd – Once belonged to the Stadler family of fishermen. It is of early vernacular architectural found on the western coast. The side gables, oven and later additions follow the traditional patterns. Declared a National Monument on 31 August 1983.
