MIDDLETON

A hamlet on the banks of the Fish River on the N10 Rd about 30 km south of Cookhouse. It was established as a train station in 1879 to act as a layover point between larger towns. The complex was developed by Mr George Webster, a blacksmith. He donated land for the building of a church.

All Saint’s United Church
All Saint’s United Church – first built as a Methodist congregation in 1903. The land for the church was donated by George webster in 1901. Five separate inlay stones were laid on 21 May 1903 by Mrs Walter Webster; Mrs CH Sparks; Mrs Henry Turner; Mrs Cosnett by the Rev F Cosnett and Norman Clifford Webster in memory of his mother Mrs George Webster. Services are held now every 4th Sunday of the month.
