Patensie

Town on the bank of the Gamtoos River. The name is said to be Khoikhoi for ‘resting place for cattle’ but not yet been determined. An early reference to the place as Patentie led to the suggestion that the name is derived from Dutch meaning ‘patience’. On the R331 rd between Hankey and Baviaanskloof. Established in 1858
