RANDFONTEIN

It was laid out on the farm Randfontein in 1890 and became a municipality in 1929. One of the biggest gold mines is the Randfontein Estate Gold Mine.
War memorial 
•    War memorial – Caprivi Moth Club Shell Hole, cnr Mainreef Rd and Randfontein Rd – This memorial commemorates the soldiers from Randfontein who lost their lives during World War 1 and 2. The grounds also display an Atlas Impala Jet and some war gunnery
•    Randfontein Estate Gold Mine Military cemetery 
•    Randfontein Estate Gold Mine Military cemetery – opposite golf range – also known as the Jameson Raid British Volunteer War graves. The headstone is in memory to troopers Beatty-Powell and Davies who fell in action during the Jameson Raid in January 1896.

Church of St John The Divine – 5 Benson Ave – This Anglican church was erected in 1905.
Old Mining Commissioner’s Post and Telegraph’s Office Building 
•    Old Mining Commissioner’s Post and Telegraph’s Office Building – 70 Market St Kocksoord – This building now used as a library.  This building was declared a Provincial heritage site in 1991.
