SIMONSTOWN

Town and naval base on the eastern coast of the Cape Peninsula in the False Bay. It develops from being the official anchorage of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) from 1743 and was named in honour of Simon van der Stel (1639-1712), Commandor of the Cape from 1691-1691 and Governor from 1691-1699.
Grave – Just Nuisance
Grave – Just Nuisance, just of Red Hill Rd at old SA Navy Signal School – The grave of the Great Dane dog Just Nuisance who died on 1 April 1944 at the age of 7 years. He served on the HMS Afrikander 1940-44 with the rank of Able Seaman RN. His grave was refurnished by the HMS Ganges Association on 28 October 1993.
