Vereeniging
This town came into being following the discovery of coal. It was established in 1882, proclaimed a town in 1892 and became a municipality in 1912. The name is derived from the company “De Zuid-Afrikaansche en Oranje Vrijstaatsche Kolen- en Mineralen-Mijn Vereeniging.
Railway Culvert
Railway culvert, R59 near Rothdene offramp – The Southern Railway line built by the ZASM connect Vereeniging with Elandsfontein (Germiston). Various culverts were built during 1892. The railway line was moved.
Vaalriver Bridge
Vaalriver Bridge - This bridge was constructed for the railway line which reach the Transvaal from the south. The bridge was completed in 1892 and remain in use until 1955. This bridge was now converted to carry a pipeline.

NG Kerk
NG Kerk, Merrimen cnr Leslie st – This church was designed by Gerhard Moerdyk. The cornerstone was laid on 30 October 1926.
Blockhouse
Blockhouse (Witkop) Meyerton, R59 Highway – This blockhouse was part of a line of blockhouses built by the British during the Anglo Boer War 1899-1902. It was intended to protect the railway line from destruction by the Boers. Proclaimed a National Monument in 1948.

The Peace Monument commemorates the negotiations that ended the Anglo Boer War 1899-1902 known as the Treaty of Vereeniging.. which was signed in Pretoria on 31 May 1902
