Warden
It was laid out on the farm Rietvlei in 1912. It obtained municipal status in 1920. Named after Charles Frederick Warden, Landrost of Harrismith (1884-1900), son of Major HD Warden.
Dutch Reformed Church
Dutch Reformed Church, Church St – Designed by architect F Heese. The cornerstone was laid by Reverend JA Hurter, the first reverend of this congregation on 7 February 1920. It was consecrated on 14 April 1924. Reputed to be the largest sandstone church in south Africa. Declared a National Monument.
